I’ve had a couple of people ask me if I’m planning on running a marathon in the spring. I knew I would get this question, but I don’t really have a solid answer. Right now my response is that I need to build a stronger base before attempting to train for a marathon. In my novice opinion, I need to run consistently for at least a year to make sure that 1) my leg is ok and 2) I don’t get injured. Oh, and 3) I want to improve my pace. [Read more…]
Do you know what motivates me to get up early on a Saturday for a long run?
In a little less than four weeks I will be running the 10k course in Shun the Sun Foundation’s 5th Annual Skin Cancer Run. This will be another evening race for me. If you’re able/willing/wanting to run, please join me! I have a 10k goal time in mind that I’m training for, but I’ll keep that to myself for right now. The course will run along the paved canals of central Mesa leading up to the home plate finish line at Hohokam stadium. This stadium has been the Chicago Cubs spring training home since 1979, I think. [Read more…]
